The number of HVLS (High Volume, Low Speed) fans you need depends on several factors, including the construction of the factory, size of the space, ceiling height, equipment layout, and the specific application (e.g., warehouse, gym, barn, industrial facility, etc.).
Key Factors to Consider:
1.The installation construction
Three Common construction: I-beam, concrete beam, and round beam/square beam.

I-beam: the height is 10-15m, as long as there is enough space, we suggest to install the biggest size 7.3m/24ft.

Concrete Beam: concretely mostly the height is not so high, below 10m, if column size 10*10, height 9m, we suggest biggest size 7.3m/24ft; if column size 7.5mx7.5m height 5m, we suggest size 5.5m or 6.1m, if height below 5m, suggest 4.8m diameter.

Round beam/Square beam: it’s almost like I-beam construction, if there is enough space, we suggest to install biggest size 7.3m/24ft.

3.  An example: Fan solution for a workshop

5. Safe Distance

If there is crane in workshop, we need to measure the space between the beam and crane, at least there is 1m space.

 

6. Air Flow Pattern

Effect of ceiling fan installation on airflow:

For safety and maximum air volume distribution, the air volume generated by the fan blades is moved from the fan blades to the floor. When the airflow hits the floor, the air volume deflects from the ground and moves around.

Single ceiling fan

When the airflow reaches the ground, it deflects and radiates outward. The airflow meets the wall or equipment obstruction, and the airflow starts to deflect upwards to reach the roof. This is similar to convection.

Multi-fan airflow

When there are multiple ceiling fans, the air flow of adjacent fans meets to create a pressure zone. The pressure area is like a wall, causing each fan to behave like a closed fan. Generally, if multiple ceiling fans are used in the same way, the effect of ventilation and cooling will be improved.

Impact of ground obstacles on airflow

Obstacles on the ground will obstruct air flow, small or streamlined obstacles will not block too much air flow, but when the airflow encounters large obstacles, the airflow will lose some power and cause air stagnation in some areas (no wind). Air flows through large obstacles, the air flow will change direction upwards, and no air will pass behind the obstacles.
